Our Mission
Our mission is "to provide social and recreational facilities, activities, and services to our members and their guests; in fulfilling our mission, the Club intends to foster a healthy and congenial climate, in which all participants (Members, Guests, and Club Staff) are treated with dignity."

Every Member is a vital part of the Club's success. We rely heavily on our Members' devoted efforts and recommendations to help us make continuous improvements to the facility, activities, and services.

Ames Golf & Country Club has a strong family foundation to its membership where every member is a vital part of the Club's success. The Club strives to meet the needs of every Member, whatever their interest may be. In doing so, we offer a variety of activities, social events, dining opportunities and much more for all Members, young and old.

General Information
A twelve member Board of Directors governs the policies and procedures for the Club. The Board meets on a regular basis and member input is greatly appreciated.

All Member purchases and fees are posted to their account. The Club asks that Members know and use their four-digit member number and sign their name legibly to account tickets. Children need to be instructed to print their name and know their proper account number.

We have one billing period at the Club. All Members are billed the 1st through the last day of the month. In addition, there is a quarterly food minimum, which applies to all food, beverage and alcohol.

We are here to ensure you have a pleasant experience each and every time you join us at the Club.

Dining & Banquets
Ames Golf & Country Club offers two Dining Rooms for our Membership. The upper level is home to our formal dining room - The Greenview Dining Room. The Dining Room went through renovations in January 2001. The renovations renewed the look and service features available in the Greenview Dining Room and bar, offering a warm, beautifully decorated room overlooking the scenic golf course. We feature a full menu with a variety of excellent choices along with a children's menu. Our talented Chef and knowledgeable Staff are prepared to make your evening a memorable one. The Lounge is a perfect setting to start your evening or finish off your meal with an after dinner drink. The bar is completely stocked with only the finest liquors and we offer a select list of wines for your enjoyment. Specialty dinners take place throughout the year such as Theme Buffets, Birthday Nights, Casual Wine Tasting, and Holiday Brunches.

The Clubroom on the lower level is our casual dining area offering a variety of appetizers, sandwiches, and snacks. The Clubroom went through complete renovations in 2005 and provides a warm, welcoming atmosphere including a walk out patio.. The bar is fully stocked and members are able to watch sporting events on the many TVs year round. Traditionally, Thursday afternoons and evenings are reserved for men's cards and dining. The Clubroom is accessible directly from the golf course and is a perfect place to take a break between the front and back nine.

The Snack Bar, located on the lower level, is available Memorial Day through Labor Day. The Snack Bar serves kid's favorites, light snacks, and delicious ice cream treats. Direct access to the Snack Bar is located at the East end of the pool area.

Special Events
Ames Golf & Country Club offers the perfect atmosphere for your special event. Every detail is tailored to perfection. We are able to accommodate private events from 15 to 200 guests. Whether it's a wedding reception, rehearsal dinner, business meeting, holiday party, luncheon, or private birthday party, our Chef and Staff are poised to take on your culinary needs.

The Club also offers the finest services for your next business meeting/function. From a morning breakfast meeting followed by a round of golf to an afternoon staff retreat, AG&CC is the ideal location for your function. The Club's fabulous surroundings and quiet atmosphere offer a professional setting for your business needs.

We offer our function space to our members at no additional fee.  Please contact the office for more information regarding availability for your next event at 232-8334.

Events for non-members are based on space availability and are subject to a room rental fee. Please refer to our banquet policies and menus for complete details.

Youth Activities

Swimming
Ames Golf & Country Club is proud to feature both a heated Olympic-size swimming pool with separate diving area, and a wading pool, for our youngest Members. The area is surrounded by sunbathing area and offers convenient access to the Snack Bar and a Cabana offering full shower and locker facilities for youngsters under the age of 16. Additionally, the Club staffs certified lifeguards that are on duty at all times during hours of operation. The Swimming Pool is open Memorial Day through Labor Day for your entire family's summertime fun!

Our swimming program for boys and girls is one of the best in the area providing individual or group lessons and a competitive Swim Team. Not only does Ames Golf & Country Club provide quality instruction to the children, we also provide a fabulous escape for mom or dad during lessons. While your children are busy in the pool, you can be relaxing pool-side, taking a few practice shots on the driving range, or enjoying a refreshing cocktail in the Clubroom.

Junior Golf
Ames Golf & Country Club is a family club and is the place for the youngest member of every family to enjoy and grow. The Junior Golf Program is a fantastic way to spark the excitement of golf into the lives of its participants. Our PGA Golf Professional directly coordinates this comprehensive program.

Through instructional clinics & golf events, your juniors will learn proper techniques, ettiquette, & safety to the fine game of golf.

Tennis
Ames Golf & Country Club offers to its Members and Guests the finest outdoor facilities, with professionally structured programs. Our facilities include (2) Har/Tru tennis courts, which are smartly appointed with wind screens and lights. The Club employs a well-trained Tennis Professional who offers a variety of services aimed at enhancing the Club Tennis experience. Our professional conducts group and private instruction at all levels of play. Throughout the season we offer numerous instructional clinics and competitive programs as well as social events for all ages.

Golf Operations
Ames Golf & Country Club is very proud of the recreational activities we are able to provide to our membership and if golf is your game, you've found "THE PLACE TO BE." The renowned Donald Sechrest of Tulsa, Oklahoma, designed the 18-hole, 114-acre course in 1971. The Golf Course boasts lush fairways, tees and well-manicured greens irrigated and surrounded by a few small, well-positioned lakes. Also included are an ample Practice and Teaching facility and a large Practice Green. Services include Club Repair, HANDICOMP Handicap System, Club Storage, as well as a fleet of 40 electric golf cars for your convenience. Golf cars may be purchased by the round or season packages are available.

The Club employs a full-time PGA Golf Professional and Certified Golf Course Superintendent. The Golf Professional provides individual and group instruction on all levels of play. For the young enthusiast, we have established an exceptional Junior Golf Program to teach the basic fundamentals of golf and golf course etiquette, as well as giving the confidence necessary for any sport. Our couples evening golf league, Locust League, meets weekly throughout the season, as do Women's Morning and Evening Golf and Men's League.

The Golf Shop is open, weather permitting, during daylight hours April through October. On Mondays, the Golf Shop and Golf Course open at noon. Our goal is to offer the highest quality recreational experience for our Members and their Guests. The Golf Operation sells fine quality merchandise at competitive prices and provides a professional staff fully trained with exceptional customer service skills.

Member Guest Golf Classic
Golf Classic The premier golf event at Ames Golf & Country Club. What a great opportuniy to showcase your Club and all of its amenities.

Men's League
It is the tradition at Ames Golf that Thursday afternoons, during the season, are reserved exclusively for Male Members from 11:30am to 7:00pm. Men's League offers a competitive and social atmosphere in which to spend time with old friends and new acquaintances.

Women's Morning Golf
The Women's Morning Golf Group is also a tradition of Ames Golf in which Members enjoy nine holes of golf followed by lunch and socializing. Don't miss it! Come join the excitement.

Women's Evening Golf
In addition to the Women's events held on Wednesday mornings, the evenings have become a viable option for those Members with busy schedules. This provides a wonderful opportunity to enjoy nine holes of golf with dinner and socializing following play.

Locust League
The general format of this league commences with complimentary cocktail at 5:15pm, a shotgun start for 9 holes at 5:45pm, and concludes with a dinner at 8:15pm. This is a festive affair, disguised as a golf event.

Junior Golf
Through instructional clinics and golf events, your juniors will learn proper technique, etiquette, and safety to the fine game of golf.
