The Club employs a full-time PGA Golf Professional and Certified Golf Course Superintendent. The Golf Professional provides individual as well as group instruction on all levels of play. For the young enthusiast, we have established an exceptional Junior Golf Program to teach the basic fundamentals of golf and golf course etiquette, as well as giving the confidence necessary for any sport. Our couples evening golf, Locust League, meets weekly throughout the season, as do Women's Morning and Evening Golf and Men's League.

The Golf Shop is open, weather permitting, during daylight hours April through October. On Mondays, the Golf Shop and Golf Course open at noon. Our goal is to offer the highest quality recreational experience for our members and their guest. The Golf Operation will provide fine quality merchandise at competitive prices and provide a professional staff fully trained with exceptional customer service skills.

Course Info
For those of you who may not be familiar, here are some highlights of Golf Course Rules & Regulations written in the Club Handbook in the section entitled, Rules of Conduct.

--DRESS CODE
With Ames Golf & Country Club, proper attire for golf is of extreme importance. All golfers must wear shoes, but are not allowed to wear golf shoes with metal spikes. All golfers are required to wear shirts with collars.

--REGISTRATION
All members and dependents must register with the Golf Shop prior to starting play. If a member or dependent has guests, the guest's names must be registered with the Golf Shop Staff.

--GOLF CHARGES
Golf Car Rental and Guest Fee tickets must be signed prior to the start of play.

--TEE TIMES
Tee Time reservations are recommended and may be reserved by calling the Golf Shop no more than seven days in advance. Only one starting time per foursome can be reserved.

--FIVESOMES
Groups of more than four members will require permission of the Golf Shop Staff.

--SOCIAL MEMBERS
It is permissible for a Social Member, the Social Members Spouse and dependents to utilize the Golf Course a limited total of five times during any one calendar year. Guest Fees apply to Social Members.

--GUESTS
Guests playing with members or dependents will incur an applicable Guest Fee. It is the responsibility of the member or dependent to register all guests with the Golf Shop Staff. It is also the responsibility of the member or dependent to inform guests of the expected behavior and dress code policy of Ames Golf & Country Club. A guest residing within a 20~mile radius of the Club is allowed the privilege of being entertained at Ames Golf & Country Club for golf, as a registered guest for the day, a total of three times per any calendar year.

--GOLF COURSE AVAILABILITY
The Golf Course officially opens, Tuesday through Friday at 8:00am, and Saturday and Sunday at 7:00am. The Golf Course is closed until 12:00pm [Noon] on Mondays. The Golf Shop will open 30 minutes prior to Golf Course opening. Typically Member and Non-Member events are scheduled throughout the golf season. Proper notice will be given regarding Golf Course availability.
