Ames Golf & Country Club is very proud of the recreational activities we are able to provide to our membership and if golf is your game, you've found "THE PLACE TO BE." The renowned Donald Sechrest of Tulsa, Oklahoma, designed the 18-hole, 114-acre course in 1971. The Golf Course boats lush fairways, tees and well-manicured greens irrigated and surrounded by a few small, well-positioned lakes. Also included are a Practice and Teaching facility and a large Practice Green. Services include Club Repair, Handicap System, Club Storage, as well as a fleet of 40 electric golf cars for your convenience Golf cars may be purchased by the round or season packages are also available.
The Club employees a full-time PGA Professional and Certified Golf Course Superintendent. The Golf Professional provides individual and group instruction on all levels of play. For the young enthusiast, we have established an exceptional Junior Golf Program to teach the basic fundamentals of golf and golf course etiquette, as well as giving the confidence necessary for any sport. Our couples evening golf, Locust League, meets weekly throughout the season, as do Women's Morning and Evening Golf and Men's League.
The Golf Shop is open, weather permitting, during daylight hours April through October. On Mondays, the Golf Shop and Golf Course open at noon. Our goal is to offer the highest quality recreational experience for our Members and their Guests. The Golf Operation sells fine quality merchandise at competitive prices and provides a professional staff fully trained with exceptional customer service skills.
Dress Code
With Ames Golf & Country, proper attire for golf is of extreme importance. All golfers must wear shoes, but are not allowed to wear golf shoes with metal spikes. All golfers are required to wear shirts with collars.
Registration
All members and guests must register with the Golf Shop prior to starting play.
Golf Charges
Golf Car Rental and Guest Fee tickets must be signed prior to the start of play.
Tee Times
Tee Time reservations are recommended and may be reserved by calling the Golf Shop no more than seven days in advance. Only one starting time per foursome can be reserved.
Fivesomes
Groups of more than four members will require permission of the Golf Shop Staff.
Guests
Guests playing with members or dependents will incur an applicable Guest Fee. It is the responsibility of the member or dependent to register all guests with the Golf Shop Staff. It is also the responsibility of the member or dependent to inform guests of expected behavior and dress code policy of Ames Golf & Country Club. A guest residing within a 20-mile radius of the Club is allowed the privilege of being entertained at Ames Golf & Country Club for golf, as a registered guest for the day, a total of three times per any calendar year.
Golf Course Availability
The Golf Course officially opens, Tuesday through Friday, at 8:00 am, and Saturday and Sunday at 7:00 am. The Golf Course is closed until 12:00 pm (noon) on Mondays. The Golf Shop will open 30 minutes prior to Golf Course opening. Typically Member and Non-Member events are scheduled throughout the golf season. Proper notice will be given regarding Golf Course availability.
